SALVATION IN CHRIST ALONE

Saved by Grace Alone

Can you be saved by grace alone?

Grace Alone. Faith Alone. The Bible, God’s Word says that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and not by our own efforts or works [Ephesians 2:8-9]. Our best efforts can never be good enough to earn salvation, but God declares us righteous for Christ’s sake.

Peace with God Through Faith

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” – Romans 5:1-2

How to ask Jesus to come into your heart and live in you to be your loving Friend, Teacher, Father, and God forever! You were created in God’s image. You are loved unconditionally, and you have a great purpose!

Ask, Seek, Knock

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” – Matthew 7:7-8

1. God created us in His image.

“God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” – Genesis 1:27

2. But we have all separated ourselves from God.

Our sins separate us from God.

God is perfect and without sin. God loves us! God doesn’t want us to perish, but to have everlasting life. But our sins must be removed in order to have eternal life with God. Sin is anything that God tells us not to do. The Bible says “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23 Our sins separated us from God.

3. But God still loves us, so He has made a way for us to know Him!

God is love.

God loved us so much that He sent his only Son Jesus Christ to earth as a man. God made Jesus die on a cross to pay for our sins with His blood. He took our sins in His body on the cross so that we could come to God. – 1 Peter 2:24, 3:18 The Bible also says that “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

Christ died on the cross.

“God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

Christ was buried in a tomb.

Men buried Jesus in a tomb. They rolled a huge stone in front of it. Soldiers guarded the tomb.

Christ was risen form the dead.

God sent an angel to roll away the big stone and scare away the soldiers. God raised Jesus from the dead! 500 people witnessed His resurrection. Soon afterward, God took Jesus back to heaven. Jesus has paid the price for our sin, and Jesus has conquered death.

4. All we have to do is believe in Jesus Christ!

Jesus is the only way and the truth.

Jesus is the only way we can come to God. Jesus said in the Bible, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father [God] except through Me.” – John 14:6 Through Jesus, we can be forgiven of all our sins and be with God forever.

But just knowing about these things is not enough! We must choose to put our faith in Jesus — to trust in Him to save us from sin.

If you do not take the step of trusting in Jesus, then your sins are not removed. –Hebrews 4:2 The Bible says that whoever believes in Jesus has eternal life and is not judged. But whoever does not believe in Jesus has been judged already and the wrath of God remains upon him! – John 3:16, 18, 36 The penalty for sin is death, but eternal life through Jesus is a free gift from God.

A step or bridge to salvation into heaven — receive righteousness through faith.

“This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished — he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.” –Romans 3:22-24

What choice will you make?

Trust in Jesus Christ to be forgiven and have eternal life? Or reject Jesus Christ and suffer eternal punishment in fire?

How to pray to receive Jesus into your heart in order to have a personal relationship with God — Not Religion!

If yes, the Bible says, “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9

“Don’t bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need.” – Matthew 7:7 The Message Version (MSG)

Let’s pray now.

“God, thank You for loving me. I confess that I have sinned against You. I believe that Your Son Jesus died on a cross to pay for my sins, and that You raised Jesus from the dead. I now put my faith only in Jesus to forgive me and save me from my sins. I confess that Jesus is my Lord! Thank you for your gift of eternal life. I ask Jesus to come into my heart. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

What’s next?
How to grow in Christ…

LOVE God and all people.

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” – Matthew 22:36-40

STUDY the Bible (God’s Word) daily.

Start with the Gospel of John; read 1 chapter each day. “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation…” “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” – John 14:23

PRAY to God constantly.

In prayer, you can thank and worship God, ask for His help, confess your sins, and pray for others. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7

MEET regularly with other Christians.

God commands that Christians meet regularly for worship, prayer, Bible study, and helping each other. “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:25

TELL others the good news about Jesus.

God wants us to tell other people how to have eternal life with God by trusting in Jesus to save them from sin. You can use this page when you talk to others about Jesus! “He [Jesus] said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.’ ” – Mark 16:15

God has a positive answer and a great plan for you moving forward!
